Lawrence Solomon is a columnist with Canada's National Post and the author of six books on environmental issues, including The Conserver Solution and Energy Shock (Doubleday). His next book, Toronto Sprawls: A Short History (University of Toronto Press) will be published in May 2006.

He is also the founder of Green Beanery, a non-profit coffee merchant.
