From my days as a struggling college freshmen working behind the counter of
a local coffee shop, I have come to appreciate all things coffee, and that
includes the atmosphere that a coffee house can provide.
I have made a home of the WINDY CITY, and I often take shelter in the solace
of roasting coffee beans, searching for that creative jolt that caffeine
usually feeds.
If you are a fellow poet or established writer with advice for a newbie
trying to make it in the biz, please send a few suggestions my way.

| This morning as steam clouds
rose from my cup of black,
I found on the smooth playing surface
in the coffee house, two discarded jokers- the ones with tasseled hats and not the heads of horses.
