Genevra Brown is a happily married freelance artist living in the Pacific Northwest. Born in 1970, she has been illustrating since she was old enough to work a pencil, upholding a family tradition going back at least four generations. In addition to numerous private commissions, her art has been
published by Tri-Tac Games, Ultraviolet Games, Tyranny Games, Dominion Games and Lucid Raven Productions. In February 2003, Mrs. Brown was Artist Guest of Honor at Capricon XXIII in Chicago, and she is a proud member of
The Association of Science Fiction and Fantasy Artists (ASFA).
Her painterly art style favors bold colors and photo realistic elements, blending high fantasy and modern graphic design, with a special interest in medieval and modern fantasy settings, mythological creatures, esoteric themes, and non-human races. She loves to experiment with multi-media, and
will often combine traditional and digital paint mediums to achieve the desired results, particularly graphite and watercolor pencils, inks, acrylics, and digital painting with her much-loved Wacom tablet.
Mrs. Brown has a tremendous passion for history, mythology and ancient cultures, and celebrating her Celtic heritage. She is a medieval recreationist with the Society for Creative Anachronism, a folk singer and percussionist, a closet
cartoonist, an unrepentant coffee and chocoholic, and is the owner / chief pixel pusher of HeatherWind Designs. In her free time she likes to bake a mean Mocha Truffle Brownie!
Limited edition prints of her images, including Java Goddess, can be found in her studio print shop.
