A good cup of Mojo

"The best cup of coffee you've ever had!"
the sign exclaimed as I
pumped gas into my raggedy ass
forest green 4 door no power anything
stick shift
64000 mile Mazda 626 whose
only redeeming quality is
Mojo Nixon belting out "I shall
not Die" from my Sirius satellite
radio playing through tinny speakers
as pseudo smoke billows from my
my mouth and gasoline
chug chug chuggas into the thirsty
tank ensuring enough fuel to
finish out the weeks worth
of showing up and trying
to feel good about having
to work at something other
than poetry to keep
my stomach fat and
kids eyes glistening
with hope and happiness.
The coffee was okay.
