Coffee and Twin Peaks: A Perfect Marriage
If you passively wondered who killed Laura Palmer, there may be better websites than Twin Peaks Brewing Co. to indulge your Twin Peaks craving. But if several cups of fresh-brewed coffee went hand-in-hand with your TP viewing, it is well worth your while to visit this site dedicated to fusing obsessions with coffee and the gone-but-not-forgotten David Lynch television series. Is nostalgia for Twin Peaks a likely indicator of a complementary coffee obsession? Twin Peaks Brewing Co. is confident that the answer is yes. "Fans of Twin Peaks know how important coffee was in the show," says site designer Jennifer Ramirez. "So, I took that little piece of Twin Peaks and expanded on it."
Memorable Coffee-Inspired Quotes
Twin Peaks Brewing Co. is frequently an either/or proposition; its material usually relates to either coffee or Twin Peaks, rarely both. However, the two subjects combine most gracefully on a page which lists several memorable coffee-inspired quotes from various TP episodes. The following exchange is but one example:
[Cooper and Harry at Pete & Katherine's house]
Pete: And how do you take your coffee, Agent Cooper?
Cooper: Black as midnight on a moonless night.
Pete: Pret-ty black.
A Wealth of Twin Peaks Features
Between material concerning Twin Peaks and that concerning coffee, this site is primarily dedicated to the former. If you wish to plumb the outer limits of Twin Peaks, there is enough on this site to keep you entertained for hours. The aforementioned coffee-related quotes give way to an unrestricted spectrum of quotes from the show. Another link brings you to lyrics and midis from TP and its cinematic incarnation, Fire Walk With Me. A David Lynch link, while largely under construction, currently features scripts to four Lynch movies. You can also find dozens of transcribed monologues between Agent Cooper and Diane. If this is not enough, rest assured that there are enough links to other TP sites to satisfy even the show’s most rabid fans.
Coffee for Twin Peaks Devotees
The heart of the site's coffee-only material is a page that links to coffee recipes categorized into three groups – Hair Raisers, Sweet Teeth, and Coffee Blenders. There are plenty of attractive options, most of which call for ingredients that a coffee lover is likely to have readily available at home.
Twin Peaks Brewing Co. has enough quality material on both coffee and Twin Peaks to satisfy a lover of either. The site remains a work in progress, and several entries on the home page describe recent TP-related additions. While new Twin Peaks features will continue to be added to the Twin Peaks Brewing Co., the existing material will keep TP fans entertained for a good while, especially those who enhance their viewing experience with the coffee recipes from the site. INeedCoffee is proud to award the May 2000 Site of The Month a ward to the Twin Peaks Brewing Co.
